About Miss Sheryl

Miss Sheryl began dancing at the age of 7 at a community center in Tacoma,  WA under the direction of Miss Damaris Caughlan.  Trained in Classical Ballet exclusively for the first few years Miss Sheryl received an excellent foundation in the proper technique required of Ballet dancers.  At the age of 13 Miss Sheryl began assisting classes with Miss Damaris and was able to learn how to teach and inspire young dancers to be their best both inside the dance studio and outside of it as well.  She continues to take classes at various studios whenever possible to maintain proper technique and inspiration for her craft.
Having taught in park districts and private studios alike it is her belief that a quality dance program should give private studio level instruction focusing on technique, and learning opportunities without the "attitude" associated with private studios.  Instead we should welcome all dancers of any age and body type with welcome arms to the world of dance.

Outside of dance Sheryl worked as an Early Childhood Educator for over 17 years with children age infant through School Age., and is a nanny to two awesome kids! Along the way she learned numerous lessons in child development, and creative and appropriate ways to bring education into life's "teachable moments".  Bringing the lessons she learned into her Ballet classes to make sure she is offering her dancers and parents a service that is exceptional and appropriate for the age and development of each child is of the upmost importance.  Miss Sheryl treats each dancer with respect and understanding and asks them to move at the pace that is best for them.  

Miss Sheryl has 2 grown children, 2 grandchildren, and two very spoiled dogs Taz Pierre & Belle Mayhem that are a frequent topic of conversation.  Miss Sheryl enjoys being outside on any nice day, sewing, cross stitching, and baking.  Most important of all is spending time with her family every moment possible.
